This Victorian home, was in need of complete renovation. A near total rebuild internally, and rear and loft extensions. Reconfigured from a 3 bed house to a 4 bed 2 bath home. We replaced the existing electrical and water supplies, rewired, upgraded the plumbing, and fitted the most efficient Greenstar boiler system. Externally the house was repointed, and new Roseview, Ultimate Rose sash windows were fitted, we even restored the stone columns to the main window surround. The kitchen has quartz worktops, Siemens appliances, and ceiling integrated extraction. The bathrooms all featured Hans Grohe fittings, and porcelain tiling. The home was finished with limed oak flooring, and oak doors.
This beautiful mansion flat on Streatham high street had gone unsold for months. Whilst it was a great flat in a great location, it simply was uninspiring compared to other properties on the market. In just under 3 weeks we restored the 1920's charm and features back into this flat. Oak flooring, doors, picture rails, even commissioning an art deco oak fireplace. Smoked lighting, and period door furniture, even the colour palette was period. The kitchen units were reused, the doors and appliances upgraded, and new oak worktops installed.
Knowing what needed to be done, meant a fast and economical turnaround. Within one week of being returned to the market the property was sold at full asking price, grossing in excess of £60,000 profit.
This period first floor flat in Streatham was reconfigured from a one bed flat with a small box room, into a two bed flat with 2 baths. The main bathroom retains a period feel, and period features were restored throughout.
A 1930's cottage in Guildford. This renovation took 3 months. The internal configuration was changed to provide good family accommodation. On the ground floor a series of three small rooms were integrated into one large kitchen diner, and a downstairs cloakroom was added. To the exterior all sofits and guttering were renewed, and remedial works were carried out to the chimney, allowing for a new chimney liner, and reinstating the fireplaces to working order. A clever reconfiguration on the first floor allowed for the bathroom to be moved upstairs whilst still retaining 2 double and one single bedrooms. Hard and soft landscaping to the front and rear. This property achieved a new highest price achieved for the road, and a sale was agreed prior to works being completed.
Redesigning the layout of this small workers cottage was the real task on this project. The original bathroom was so small as to be unusable. However, a structural steel allowed us to take just 2 feet from the living room, thus creating enough space to create a useful space with a full bath. The kitchen was redesigned to allow for french doors onto the small patio garden, which was relaid with new stone. New wiring, plumbing, ceilings, replastered walls, oak flooring and doors, meant this lovely cottage was brought totally up yo date. With no access from the road, over ten tonnes of materials and waste had to be moved by hand along a 250 yard passageway.
A 1970s detached house in Surrey. Originally a 5 bed house , this property was redesigned to provide spacious 4 bed 3 bath accommodation. The master has a large dressing room, and the configuration we provided allows for reinstating a fifth bedroom, if desired. Don't worry about losing the dressing room, as the guest suite also has one!
The works were extensive and exacting. The interior was taken back to shell condition, new electrics, cat 6 wiring, new water system, and underfloor heating. Extensions over the garage, and to the rear of the property added over 1200 square feet of living space. To create a fluid flow, 18 steel beams were used to make sure the layout feels natural. Unable to source roof tiles of the same colour to the originals, the entire roof was retiled. All the windows were replaced with Roseview ultimate rose sash windows, and over 60 tonnes of top soil were added to the rear garden to provide a flat lawn. Block paving to the front, and over 1500 square feet of porcelain tiles provide the rear patios. The front door and side gates are made from solid oak, and were commissioned for us by local craftsmen.
The German bifold doors were the the largest set of 'internal L' design doors ever installed by Surrey Design and Build, an extra steel was used to create an opening without any pillars. creating a seamless 1400 square feet of free flowing entertain space.
This project took over 7 months to complete. Before renovations the property was valued at £800,000. In the summer of 2017 the property was valued at £1,250,000, renovation costs were in the region of £225,000.
